..."it's all about making the complex things simple..."

Our Approach

This is where we take your project aspirations and apply our project delivery methodology and engineering knowledge to optimise energy efficiency with design simplicity, mitigate risk and complexity with quality design documentation for the success of your project.

Our Engagement Process

This is how we engage with our clients and start understanding the challenges at hand, problems being experienced or new project envisaged.

01

Project Briefing

This is where we obtain a briefing of the problem, issues being experienced or project envisaged. During this stage we will typically arrange a visit to site to understand the problems; challenges being experienced; obtain a briefing from the client/ lead consultant and/or project manager. This initial briefing usually informs the type of engagement required. Refer below “Our Engineering Services Approach".

02

Formal Proposal

Once we identify that we can add value to your project. We will prepare an offer of service, with a detailed scope of works, based upon a fixed fee or hourly rates (with a budget), where a high level of uncertainty exists, but this is purely dependant on the nature of the works required. Most of our engagements are based upon a fixed fee, which is our preference. Our proposals clearly identify our project understanding; scope of work and services included; further information required from others; services deliverables; our assumptions and scope clarifications along with a programme/breakdown of our fees and standard Engineering Consultancy terms of engagement, (based upon Engineering NZ or ACENZ conditions for consulting engineers). Where possible we usually offer fixed lump sum fees or fixed lump sum work packages, to ensure our client's understand the scope and value of the services we provide.

03

Client Engagement

This is when the real project begins, and we commence works as outlined within our fee proposal, in collaboration with the other consultants or a project manager. Dependant on the initial briefing, we unusually gather further project information on the site installation i.e. as-builts, issues being experienced or project envisaged. Including inputs from other consultants to assist with design progression. Once this early discovery phase is nearing completion, we will formulate a set of outputs/deliverables, as set out in the fee proposal, such as a design features report/reports and initial sketch /concept drawings, setting out the initial design. On a monthly basis we will report to the client manager on design progression, risk issues and information required, and any other issues which may arise.

Our Engineering Services Approach

We have an open and transparent Engineering Service Methodology, which is based upon our consulting experience across a broad range of building types and client organisations.  Let us develop a tailored proposal to suit your business needs, and fast track you on your project journey.

01.

Project Inception Services

This where we take your building layout/campus plans and undertake a high-level review of your infrastructure, and prepare feasibility options or prepare a master plan.

02.

New Project Design / Building Consent Documentation & Site Observation

For pre-established projects,  this is where we collaborate and work with your chosen consultants/project manager to deliver a design, which meets the project brief/ building consent requirements.

03.

Condition Assessments / Strategic Reviews & Audits

This is where we discover the condition of your assets and determine their suitability, efficiency, operation, failure risk and resiliency levels to service your current and future site, building or campus infrastructure requirements.

04.

Performance Issues & Building Compliance Remediation

Minor alterations can cause performance issues if plant capacity/capability are not considered.  Preventative maintenance checks and repairs can lapse causing performance issues as the systems deteriorate and failures start occurring.

05.

Major/Minor Plant Upgrades & Building Works

Don’t allow the chance of  installing inappropriate plant/ equipment and obsolete technology in your building, and set out a liability / risk to on going business operations for the next plant/ equipment life cycle i.e. next 12- 25 years.

"Making things complicated is easy, making things simple is complicated "...

We thrive on taking the complexity of building services and applying good design and engineering practices, to make things simple to install, operate, maintain and service your building space.
